URTHBOY

Tim Levinson, aka Urthboy, is an emcee and producer hailing from the unlikely hip-hop postcode of Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains, NSW. A founding member of seminal Aussie hip-hop collective The Herd and co-founder of long-running associated record label Elefant Traks, Levinson is the proud progenitor of a prolific five solo albums the most recent of which, The Past Beats Inside Me Like a Second Heartbeat (2016) spawned the hit-single “Long Loud Hours feat. Bertie Blackman”. The first to admit to his involvement in petty crime and run-ins with law enforcement in his youth, Levinson like so many before him sought music as an escape route from a less agreeable lifestyle, specifically hip-hop. Outside of his many musical accomplishments, Levinson is well-known for his social and political awareness and outspokenness in the conversations around human rights, Indigenous health and education and Australian refugee policy.
