The soulful jazz-rap selections from her celebrated mixtape, The Great Mixtape succeeded in capturing the attention of global music media worldwide including BBC1 in the UK and has led to her opening for international hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar on his 2016 Australian tour in addition to supports for Thundercat, Little Simz and Fat Freddy’s Drop. Sampa’s socially-conscious flow has also spilled over into the Australian festival scene with the emcee having performed at WOMADelaide, Golden Plains, Sugar Mountain, triple j’s 2016 One Night Stand and Vivid LIVE alongside Hiatus Kaiyote at the Sydney Opera House.
